A day late (but hopefully not a dollar short!) – here’s what’s on tap at the Sackville ANBL Growler bar this week:

Mad and Noisy Hops and Bolts India Pale Lager (Creemore Springs, Creemore, ON): 5.3%; 60 IBU – This beauty combines the best components of a European Lager, a West Coast IPA and an English Pale Ale to build an intriguingly bitter, yet malty, “hopped-up” brew. Left unfiltered and constructed with 5 palate-crushing hops, the result is a pithy grapefruit bitterness on a foundation of sweet caramel malt, and underpinned with notes of chocolate and nut.

Cameron’s Ambear Red Ale (Cameron’s Brewing Company, Oakville, ON): 5%; 25 IBU -The wild black bear has a lot in common with the Ambear Red Ale. Both are complex, intelligent and incredibly unique. This West Coast-style ale uses caramel malt and citrusy Cascade Mountain hops to create layers of delicious depth. Enjoy the generous hop aroma and smooth maltiness, followed by a tasty finish.

 Dunham Saison du Pinacle (Brasserie Dunham, Dunham, QC): 6.5%; 52 IBU – A Saison that is hopped with the American varieties Citra and Simcoe, and Australian varieties Sylva and Topaz. It is then dry-hopped with the same. Good if you’re thirsty! Has a nice complex, evolutionary taste.
