Muskoka Moonlight Kettle Series: Cool As Cuke (Muskoka Brewery, Bracebridge, ON): 4.7%; 30 IBU – With Ontario-grown hops, and locally sourced natural ingredients, Cool As Cuke perfectly balances the unique, refreshing flavours of cucumber with the essence of a classic American Pale Ale.

Picaroons Pivot #1 DIPA (Picaroons Traditional Ales, Fredericton, NB): 8%; 80 IBU – Pivot #1 is the first of Picaroons’ Imperial IPA series: it is built on a clean malt base consisting of Canadian 2-Row barley and a touch of wheat. Pivot #1 uses big additions of American hops (including Warrior and Azacca), with some more nuanced German Hallertau Blanc hops for added complexity. Expect fruity and floral notes, including melon, pineapple, pine, and white grape.

Pump House Seasonal: Black Strap Brown Ale (Pump House Brewery, Moncton, NB): 5.4%; 26 IBU – This is considered an American-style brown ale, due to its medium bitterness. Truly brown in colour. Low-to-medium body, dry, sweet, malty finish of roasted barley and hints of blackstrap molasses. This malt bill is prepared with a percentage of sour mash, which makes for an interesting finish.
